The Alpe Campo of Rimasco is a touristic business that includes a Fun Bob facility, a mountain hut with a large restaurant and a two-seater chairlift necessary to reach Pian della Ratta, where the refuge is located. The Alpe Campo of Rimasco is one of the most popular and loved tourist activities of the whole Valsesia; since 2014 the touristic demand has expanded with the opening of the brand new Fun Bob facility which is appreciated by people of all ages and nationalities! Below you will find a brief description of everything that our area can offer you, from the mountain shelter to the Fun Bob, to our two-seater chairlift up to the paths available for those who love hiking in the mountains. The refuge Alpe Campo is located at 1,200 meters above sea level in Pian della Ratta, the name comes from the dialect of Valsesia in which “ratta” means rhododendron, a typical mountain shrub that you can admire in abundance along the footpath and around the refuge. The Refuge is built in a modern style, but with typical elements of the mountain landscape. We have a bedroom and 4 beds along with the option to have breakfast in our bar. We offer homemade cuisine along with the specialities of the Piedmontese tradition and the inevitable polenta, the main dish of our culinary tradition. We believe our strength is the quality of the dishes we present, as they are all made fresh with excellent ingredients. Our facility is accessible by the two-seater chairlift “Rimasco – Pian della Ratta” in use since 1984. This was first used to reach the ski resort of Alpe Campo, but now closed since 2011, and restored with the reopening in 2014 of the Fun Bob park. The Chairlift station is located in front of the parking lot of Cà Abate, about 1 km from the center of the village of Rimasco (906 meters) on the road to Carcoforo; alternatively you can walk up the mule track (trail CAI n.370) starting in Sponda del Lago, near the restaurant “Il Laghetto” and it can be done in about 35 minutes. The major tourist attraction of our area is, of course, the new Fun Bob, which starts right next to the refuge and ends at the start of the chairlift with a drop of about 200 meters. The length of the track is about 1 km and you can reach a speed of 40 km/h during the descent. The breathtaking curves and the surrounding nature are the two elements that make our bobsleigh truly unique! Outside the refuge, there is a large green area that is, in part, equipped with tables and umbrellas to relax. On the panoramic balcony, there are deckchairs to get a tan with a breathtaking view! Continuing past our facilities you can reach, Alpe Campo in about an hour. The path starts from the former “baby” ski lift on the left of the slope above the refuge. After about ten minutes on the meadow, the path enters the woods and goes on for about half an hour. Coming out of the beechwood you’ll find the three dry-stone houses and you have reached Alpe Campo. The view from here is spectacular and it allows you to observe the Regina Margherita Hut.
