RISTORANTETRAUBENWIRT

A gem of south Tyrolean hospitality

Located in the historic heart of Bressanone, Traubenwirt is a beloved gathering spot for those who enjoy fine food, good company, and the joy of living. This treasure of South Tyrolean inn tradition welcomes guests with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offers an impressive range, blending Tyrolean specialties with Mediterranean and international flavors, all perfectly paired with exquisite South Tyrolean wines.

Housed in a classic Tyrolean building, the restaurant’s story is rooted in history. Rebuilt after the devastating fire of 1444, the property was documented as belonging to Balthasar von Kreuz in 1604 and later passed through generations of notable local families.

In 1949, Franz Weissensteiner acquired the inn, initiating its first restoration. His son Roman modernized the venue, maintaining its historic charm while enhancing comfort and creating a space ideal for enjoying regional delicacies and exceptional wines. Today, the next generation carries forward this legacy.

A historic fountain, dating back to at least 1604, still graces the front of the inn. Once one of Brixen’s two public water sources, it serves as a charming reminder of the city’s rich past.
