CIVIDINI: quality, craftsmanship and style

CIVIDINI was founded in 1988 with the presentation of a small collection of cashmere sweaters that, contrary to the hyper-technological trend of the late 1980s, were woven exclusively on hand-operated machines as the one used by our grandmothers in the 1950s. The minimalist imprint of the design as opposed to the glamour reigning in those years defined the aesthetic and product concept through craftsmanship and the use of excellent raw materials.

After a few years in which, from an initial image affirmation to a commercial affirmation, the collection expands with a complete collection that is presented for the first time with a fashion show during Milan Fashion Week for S/S 1995, characterised by the cornerstones of the philosophy of the debut: minimal design, artisan manufacture and high-quality raw materials for a product that is positioned in the luxury bracket exclusively made in Italy.

As time goes by, the concept of craftsmanship evolves and expands with the study of ancient artisan techniques such as Tie & Dye dyeing, hand painting and stencil technique, especially on knitwear that CIVIDINI recovers and interprets in a modern key. Another important milestone is the invention of silk/steel which is introduced for the first time with the S/S 1994 collection and still interprets the sporty-chic part of the collection.

CIVIDINI, precisely due to the characteristics linked to its origins, creates quality products with a design that is away from the trend and designed to last over time, anticipating by many years the culture of sustainability that is dominant today: the first step on the road to sustainability is taken by proposing long-lasting products to the market. CIVIDINI products are aimed at a woman who is particularly careful to quality and who does not like hyper design but seeks products that are outside the trends and have a precise and recognisable style. The Cividini collections, divided into pre-collection and main collection, are distributed in Italy, Europe, USA, Japan, Far East, Australia, Russia and lately also in Mainland China.
