In the heart of Emilia-Romagna, nestled among gentle hills and colors reminiscent of Italian Renaissance paintings, lies the young winery Tenute Venturini Foschi. Born from history, tradition, and the bond of a family, this estate is founded on three principles: to valorize the cherished territory, to create a familial network for its generation of 6 children and future generations, and to work with quality, using hand-picked, organically grown grapes treated with gentle methods.
The philosophy of Tenute Venturini Foschi centers on respect for the land. Vineyard cultivation follows sustainable practices aimed at preserving ecosystem balance and ensuring high-quality production in the long term.
Every stage of the production process, from harvest to winemaking, is meticulously executed to capture the essence of the Emilian terroir in every bottle.
The estates span approximately 60 hectares, including 24 hectares under vine, cultivating 18 different grape varieties, totaling 100,000 vines planted, supported by 25,000 vineyard posts, 339 km of support wires, and 68 km of vine rows. The grape varieties cultivated range from indigenous to international vines, including newer varieties like Ervi, from which our red wine CA’ FONTANI is born, reflecting the richness of the Emilian terroir and the family’s expertise.
The production includes elegant white wines, full-bodied red wines, a rosé with refreshing acidity, delicate sparkling wines made using the Classic Method, including SOPHIA, which received high acclaim with 91 points from both James Suckling and Decanter World Wine Awards 2023. This recognition underscores the Venturini Foschi dedication to quality winemaking.
A jewel of Tenute Venturini Foschi is the Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, featured in two versions of white wines: GEMMA and GEMMA GENTILE. Malvasia di Candia is an indigenous grape from the Duchy of Maria Luigia area. Through innovative vinification techniques, the grape’s aromas are preserved, showcasing hints of cedar, yellow fruit, and sage on the nose.
With aging, these aromas intensify. GEMMA GENTILE delights with residual sweetness yet maintains a savory balance and refreshing acidity. Each sip of our wines tells a unique story, with each label tracing the family’s genealogy from grandmother GEMMA through grandfather FONIO to granddaughter SOPHIA, blending wine and artistry to express the elegance that defines each label.
