A vineyard rooted in tradition and nature
Our 5-hectare vineyard is located in Montepetriolo, a small hill near Perugia, at an altitude of approximately 350 meters above sea level. The vineyard surrounds our home, feeling like an extension of our garden—we know every inch of it and follow nature’s rhythms to care for it. The southwest-facing orientation of the land ensures the vines benefit from abundant sunlight and excellent ventilation, both essential for natural vineyard management.
The soil, rich in minerals, offers exceptional drainage capacity. Years of experience in vineyard care and winemaking have taught us that respecting nature and honoring tradition are the true secrets to crafting excellent wine. We follow nature’s pace, letting the moon and seasons guide our work. Federico inherited the tradition of natural winemaking from his grandfather. He has preserved and shared this heritage, giving it new awareness and direction.
Federico made his first wine at the age of 15 alongside his grandfather. His family initially produced wine for the local market, but in 2014, Federico began marketing his wines internationally. This marked the beginning of a new adventure, including designing labels and packaging—all created within the family. Today, Federico and Alessia work daily in the vineyard and winery, with help from family and friends during the hand-harvest and bottling process.
Our wines ferment spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts, without temperature control or the addition of sulfites. We fertilize the soil solely with manure and green manure, and we practice traditional pruning methods passed down through generations, allowing us to maintain vines over 100 years old. We produce 10 different types of wine. For younger, fresher wines, we use fiberglass tanks (like the sparkling TRIBULATO-MUSTICCO-CRICRO’; the orange wine PISTARELLO; and two everyday wines, ‘L BIANCO and ‘L ROSSO).
For more refined wines, we use stainless steel tanks (LA TORRE BIANCO and LA TORRE ROSSO). For traditional wines inherited from Federico’s grandfather (IL BIANCO DI CESARE and IL ROSSO DI CESARE), we age them in wooden barrels. In 2021 we built a new winery, which includes a tasting room where we welcome guests. Here, we host tastings featuring our wines, olive oil, vegetables, and cured meats produced on our farm.
