At Kurhaus, time moves at a different pace. Dr. Keller had already understood this when he decided, back in 1914, that the sunny hillside of Cademario would be perfect for creating his dream: a place of wellness that would help his guests replenish their energy and restore their mental and physical well-being.
Today, Kurhaus Cademario Hotel & SPA is a certified health, relaxation, and wellness oasis, in Ticino. It has preserved its leadership as a top wellness, relaxation, and health resort since the beginning. The facility has 82 spacious rooms and suites with mesmerizing views of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains, including Mount Lema (1624 meters above sea level).
A number of the suites have private jacuzzis inside, while others are themed based on the elements of traditional Chinese medicine. This philosophy promotes energy rebalancing, and it permeates within Kurhaus. Dr. Keller envisioned the potential of energy rebalancing at the beginning of the last century. The rooms provide direct access to the DOT SPA: a wellness heaven divided into various zones (from indoor to outdoor) that are interconnected. With an area of 2200 m2, Kurhaus promotes energy rebalancing through a path of saunas, Turkish baths, a Hammam, a Caldarium, a Frigidarium, jacuzzis, and emotional showers.
Once inside this wellness sanctuary, one can rely on the expert hands of trained therapists.
The various themed cabins offer the opportunity to book massages, state-of-the-art beauty treatments, or traditional Chinese medicine treatments such as acupuncture, cupping, or Qui Gong. The Private SPA, meanwhile, will allow you to reserve exclusive moments of pure bliss to be shared with your better half.
Another element that is considered central to restoring guests’ physical and mental wellbeing is food. Dr. Keller was an advocate of eating healthy. According to him, guests should be offered a variety of delicious and balanced food.
So, it was decided with DOT FOOD, in 2020 to expand the culinary offerings of Kurhaus. Hence, “La Cucina”, the restaurant that adds functional dishes to a varied diet, rich in noble proteins, vitamins, natural fats, and fiber from seasonal vegetables. The restaurant offers a set of mouth-watering and fresh recipes starting with local dishes and ranging to Mediterranean, Ketogenic, and Vegan cuisines. The restaurant also accommodates the needs of guests with food intolerances and allergies.
Last but not least, Kurhaus is located in an area that plays an important role in the well-being of guests. Cademario is located in Malcantone, in a sunny and hilly area in the Lugano region. The mild climate here means it is possible to live in close contact with nature, engaging in walking and hiking all year round. Many of the trails start directly from the hotel, such as the conscious walk: a loop trail within the woods and meadows around the property that allows you to walk while listening to your body, your breathing, and the sounds of nature while being supported by experienced guides.
