Since the beginning of the last century, the Ideal Caffè Stagnitta roasting company, in the heart of Palermo’s historic center, has been a symbol for entire generations of Sicilians. In 1922, in the Discesa dei Giudici in Palermo, great-grandfather Giovanni started this prestigious business. Through the years, his mastery and wisdom in the artisanal processing of products were passed down to us by our ancestors, and we still treasure them today.
The entire production phase is carried out under careful supervision to preserve that traditional coffee taste that is still present in the distinguished Ideal Caffè Stagnitta blends. Our catalog includes Super Ideal, a pleasant blend with an intense and persistent flavor, suitable for those who want to discover the ancient taste of Palermo coffee, and our precious 100% Arabica blend, made through the use of the finest and rarest qualities of coffee in existence, and characterized by a suave and refined aroma, along with a compact and resistant body.

Discesa dei Giudici, a renowned historical-commercial street, for the past decade, has been included on the
famous Arab-Norman Route established by Unesco.
The café-restaurant Casa Stagnitta opened on that street, near the monumental Piazza Bellini (overlooked by the splendid churches of San Cataldo, Martorana, and Santa Caterina). Contiguous with the historic roasting company Ideal Caffè Stagnitta, the new Casa Stagnitta was established as a place where coffee can express itself in all its variants: Italian espresso, artisanal ice cream,
Sicilian granita, croissants, pastries, and more. The restaurant, on the other hand, offers a culinary selection inspired by typical Sicilian cuisine, and more, with dishes and specialties with unique and enveloping flavors.
Casa Stagnitta, now a favorite stop for Palermitans and tourists alike, received the title of “The best independent coffee shop in the world” on March 2nd, 2022 from the Financial Times, along with the great international cafes of Paris, London, Tokyo, New York, Sydney, Delhi, and
