Since 1960, wines made with art
Cantina di Santadi was established in 1960. Until the end of the seventies, activity was limited to the production and sale of bulk wine. In 1976, with the arrival of a new Board of Directors, headed by Antonello Pilloni, serving uninterruptedly as chairman since then, the great turning point took place. With far-sightedness and in full harmony with the Board of Directors, he called a consultant, the internationally renowned enologist Giacomo Tachis, undisputed hero for bringing about the rebirth of Italian oenology, creator of the wines: Sassicaia, Tignanello and Solaia. With him, the focus has been on the processing of grapes from autochthonous vines, among which, first of all, the valorization of Carignano del Sulcis, Nasco and Vermentino. The first bottle of TERRE BRUNE was created (vintage 1984), the first Sardinian red wine aged in a barrique. TERRE BRUNE was welcomed with great enthusiasm both at a national and international level and still today it is our symbolic wine. The street where Cantina di Santadi is located bears the name of Maestro Giacomo Tachis, to whom we will always be grateful. The constant commitment to work in order to produce wines of such high-quality is paid back by consumers, who appreciate Cantina Santadi’s wines, from all over the world. Today we propose more than twenty labels
in more than forty countries, among which ROCCA RUBIA, SHARDANA, NORAS, ARAJA, GROTTA ROSSA, ANTIGUA as red wines, VILLA DI CHIESA, CALA SILENTE, VILLA SOLAIS, PEDRAIA, SOLAILS among white wines, TRE TORRI as rosé and LATINIA and FESTA NORIA for dessert and fortified wines. The assiduous and constant commitment of our producers together with the innovative spirit and the respect for territorial traditions, aim to honor the winery and to safeguard a real heritage of history, culture, style, and taste, which are the real essence of our agricultural reality.
