In the universe of Villa Due SS, the Boutique-Winery Luminosità is in the heart of Tuscany: the region of Italy responsible for the production of the most renowned wines on the planet. The internationally awarded AluSSinante and IlumiSS wines were born out of the owners’ strong passion for the land, the grapes, the harvest and, of course, the wine. Luminosità is situated in the hills of Casole d’Elsa and has around 150 hectares of vineyards. The grapes have unique characteristics due to the perfect combination between the clay soil rich in limestone and the altitude of 350 m above sea level, with a considerably fluctuating temperature between day and night. And thanks to the perfect exposure to the sun and the uniqueness of the soil, it gathers appropriate characteristics for a very special wine. Luminosità Winery has been researching, studying and developing unique wines for 12 years, different in subtleties, but with the same signature. Full-bodied, dense, delicate and created from the refined work of a great winemaker and the palate of owners passionate about winemaking. AluSSinante and IlumiSS are Super Tuscans of consistent quality, with a lot of personality and a contemporary approach, who have already conquered the palates of great connoisseurs and laypeople around the world. The entire process is conducted with great precision, so that the final result is effectively contemplated. And very enjoyed. AluSSinante is made from a careful selection of Sangiovese (40%), Merlot (40%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) grapes. After a long fermentation in oak barrels, it goes to french oak barrels for 16 months, until maturation. The wine continues to age in bottles for at least 10 months. The color is deep ruby red, with purple nuances, anticipating an extremely elegant bouquet, characterized by intense fruitiness such as blackberry, blueberry and ripe red fruits. All this fruitiness overlays the floral notes and light spice notes. Annual production is 10 thousand bottles. Ilumis is also the result of a blend, but of a distinct winemaking: each variety is vinified separately. Ilumis is warm, complex and mysterious. It has an intense ruby red color, beautifully rich and concentrated. It is pleasantly fresh with a bouquet of blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. On the palate, there are spicy notes of cloves and vanilla. The flavor is bold and wonderfully fresh, with silky, well-rounded tannins. The finish is long and persistent. Annual production is 15 thousand bottles.
