Urciuolo winery was established in 1996, which were encouraging years for the enology of Irpinia. Irpinia is a land traditionally suited for the production of fine wines, however, its capability of expressing this peculiarity in a tangible and widespread way is a recent development. For many years the winery was devoted to the production of typical wines of the territory, the winery merged its life rhythms in symbiosis with the passing of seasons in the vineyards. However today Ciro, the son is proudly and skillfully running the family business by introducing innovative choices. Thanks to his commitment in particular in the export sector, the winery is a perfect union between tradition and new wine culture. In 1992 they planted 3 hectares of Fiano in Forino, at the foot of Mount Faliesi, at an altitude of about 450 meters (1,500 feet). A charming area, among the most beautiful ones of Irpinia, all surrounded by mountains, which has always been considered as an area for the production of hazelnuts and included in the DOCG area of Fiano di Avellino almost by accident, but thanks to the stubbornness of winemakers it was possible to change the general image of these lands.
